Shannon Knorr - Pilates and Gyrotonic®

Shannon Knorr is one of our very talented Pilates trainers. Shannon's quick, creative mind and her sense of humor are important factors in her style of training. She is able to work with anyone's body type and injury limitations, adapting the training session to the client's personal abilities. Each session with Shannon is power packed. She is a master of keeping things flowing.

Shannon received her Bachelor degree in Dance/Movement Therapy in 2000, from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Through her studies she was exposed to various movement modalities from Body-Mind Centering to Pilates. Shannon has been a student of many forms of movement and dance. Her degree was given with an emphasis in performance and cultural studies in dance.

In 2003, Shannon completed her Pilates training through Physical Mind studio. Shannon continued training with Nora St. John at Turning Point in Walnut Creek, a studio that developed out of St. Francis Hospital Sports Medicine. Still wanting more, Shannon was trained in Gyrotonic®. Gyrotonic is a movement system developed by Julia Horvath incorporating elements of yoga, tai chi, swimming, and dance. It focuses on spiraling movements, rotations and articulating in the joints.

Shannon works at Turning Point Studio as well as our office. She lives with her husband and 2 small children.
